These i.e. ‘Nepali’, ‘Lepcha’, ‘Bhutia’ and ‘Limbu’ are the main spoken languages of Sikkim.
1. There was a large scale immigration of Nepalis in 18th and 19th century hence Nepali language.
2. Lepcha is the earliest ethnic group settled Sikkim who speaks Lepcha language.
3. Bhutia is spoken by Tibetan Bhutias who migrated from Tibet.
4. The Limbu or Yakthung tribes are Kirati people indigenous to the hill found in sikkim along with South Tibet, Bhutan, Darjeeling, Assam, Nagaland, and Burma. Hence Limbu language
