The Indian monument which has officially been declared the most visited place of the world by World Book of Records (WBR) is the Golden Temple in Amritsar. It is a Sikh place of worship called gurudwara. It is the most well-known gurdwara and is considered a sacred place by Sikhs. London based organisation World Book of Records(WBR) gave the award certificate to the management body of the temple as over a lakh devotees visit the holy shrine every day. The international organization, established in 2015, catalogues and verifies world records with authentic certification, gace the award certificate after three months of observation. The Golden Temple is an important part of Indian heritage as it stands as a symbol of peace, unity and spirituality and is the holiest pilgrimage site of Sikhism.
