Liver
The pigment is known as bilirubin, mostly excreted through the liver as bile. The bile passes out of the liver through the bile ducts and is stored in the gallbladder before final excretion. A malfunction in a part or parts of the system can show as jaundice, a yellow tinge, in the eyes or skin.
