Fathima Beevi. Justice M. Fathima Beevi was the first female judge to be appointed to the Supreme Court of India

M Fathima Beevi

It was in 1989, 39 years after the setting up of the Supreme Court in 1950, that Justice M Fathima Beevi was appointed a judge in the highest court in the land and she was the first one as female.

only six women have been appointed to the supreme court of India till date these are -

Justice Ruma Pal
