He was an Indian king belonging to the Chahamana dynasty, and ruled parts of present-day Rajasthan in north-western India. He was ascension to the throne in 1169 CE with Ajmer as is capital and to have died in 1177 CE while fighting with Chalukyas in Gujrat. He was succeeded by his elder son Prithviraja (Prithviraj Chauhan).
